Hanover Central graduate and University of Michigan student-athlete, Stevan Micic is currently ranked #1 in the Big Ten and #2 in the country for wrestling. Stevan is a senior majoring in sociology and is working on a Master’s Degree in management and still has another year of eligibility for wrestling.
This past summer, Stevan competed for the Serbian National Team and was in Poland for a large international meet preparing for the World Championships. Unfortunately, Stevan felt something pull in his knee. He did finish the meet and won the title but was unable to compete at the Worlds. He has since been in physical therapy and is finally 100% and ready to compete for the University of Michigan.
Stevan came to Hanover Central High School during his short Holiday break in December and talked to our high school and youth wrestlers. He encouraged them to take care of business in the classroom first and foremost. He told them to stick with wrestling – that it would take you places you never thought you’d go. Stevan is currently 5-0 for his current season after a dominating win against an Arizona State opponent. Next up will be a match at home against the University of Illinois on Saturday, Jan. 12th. But his most important matches will begin on March 9 and 10 at the Big Ten Championships. We’d like to wish Stevan the best of luck!! Hanover Central is proud to call Stevan Micic one of their own!!
