Girls Varsity Cross Country · Senior Spotlight: Madeline Kartz

Madeline Kartz is a senior at Hanover Central High School. She has been running during her whole high school career. I found the time to ask her some questions about her time here running for Hanover.

What age did you start running?

I started running when I was in 6th grade. 


What made you want to start running? 

I started running because a lot of people told me I should try it, and I thought it would be fun. 


What is your best time? 

My best time in cross country is 19:52. 


What is your goal for the season? 

 My goal for the season is for the girls team to make it to semi-state as a team. 


What motivates you to keep pushing during a meet? 

It motivates me that I am running for my team and not just me. 


Do you plan on doing cross country in college? 

I don’t plan on running cross country in college. 


Do you have any pre-game rituals?

I eat a bowl of oatmeal the morning of every meet. 


Do you play any other sports? 

I play soccer, basketball, and track in addition to cross country.
