  • The 2nd half of last week’s 49-14 win at Wheeler was played with a running clock. It was the fifth time this season that Hanover established the minimum 35-point 2nd half lead to trigger the IHSAA’s mercy rule.
  • Bryan Hoover returned the game’s opening kickoff 93 yards for a touchdown last Friday at Wheeler. While impressive, it was not a modern-era record. That still belongs to Nate Novak ’16, who returned a kickoff 98 yards 9/19/15 at Boone Grove.
  • This is the regular season finale for the Wildcats. Hanover is 3-3 in Week 9 regular season finale games in the modern era.
  • HC’s 46.00 points-per-game scoring average is the highest of any Class 3A school in the state.
  • Hanover Central currently has the second-highest rating among the eight teams in Sectional 25, behind Knox. The Sagarin Ratings use a computer formula that includes a variety of data points.
  • Linebacker Max Warchol leads the state in tackles-for-loss (TFL) with 23.5, and is tied for 9th-most TFL in the nation.
  • QB Blaze Cano and WR Gannan Howes continue to rank high among their Hoosier peers. Cano is currently 13th in the state in passing yards (1,713) and tied for 5th in TDs (25). Howes is 6th in Indiana in receiving yards (834) and tied for 3rd in TD catches (12).
  • Last week, senior QB Brady Glisic ran for 149 yards and two TDs and passed for 104 yards and two more TDs in South Central’s 56-7 win over Bishop Noll. Glisic is averaging 114 yards per game.
  • Buzz Schoff is the 7th South Central head coach in the last 12 seasons. He is the first head coach to have led four consecutive seasons in Union Mills since 2002-07 (Travis Flora).
