Coed Varsity Bowling · Senior Interview – Eva Holm, Bowling Team

Within the last week, I had the nice opportunity to interview Eva Holm, one of the newer members of the bowling team. Unlike my previous interview with Ruthie, Eva is pretty new to the team, and seeing how things are handled within the team through a fresh set of eyes can help us, the readers.

  1. What are you most looking forward to in the bowling season this year?
  • I am looking forward to our bowling meets starting again, and being able to spend time with all of my friends that I have made on the team.
  1. How long have you been bowling?
  • I have only been bowling for a few months now, this was my first year on the team. Even though I have not been on the team for too long, I have learned so much.
  1. What’s been your favorite part of bowling?
  • My favorite part of bowling is honestly the team and the amount of fun we all have together. We are like a family at times, we can always depend on each other and we all get along really well.
  1. Are there any new team members you hope to leave a lasting impact on this season?
  • There is a new junior on the team who recently joined last week. We introduced her to the realm of bowling and she absolutely fell in love. I hope that she holds onto that passion to inspire many other bowlers yet to come.
  1. What do you believe you can do better on the alley?
  • I always have a problem following through with my arm when I bowl. I think it is a mental game with myself sometimes. I know how to fix it, the problem has just become muscle memory.
  1. What is your favorite subject in school?
  • My favorite subject in school would have to be either math or band. I have always really loved to do math, so it is one of my favorite subjects, and with band, I know that I can always escape into my world of music.
  1. What are your favorite hobbies outside of school?
  • Outside of school my favorite hobbies are playing music, running and painting. Anytime I do any of these things I can feel my stress just float away, they are all so relaxing to me.
  1. Are there any sports you wish we could have at Hanover try at we don’t?
  • I am a really big hockey fan. I think that there are enough people who skate and play hockey at our school to make a Hanover team. This would be beneficial to us so the kids who play hockey for other schools would actually have a Hanover team that they can join and play for.
  1. What are your post high school plans?
  • After high school I plan on going to Rose Hulman Institute of Technology for mechanical engineering and having a minor in music and political science. I plan on running with the track team as well as joining various extracurriculars.
