With the win against Calumet last week, the boys basketball team is sharing a Greater South Shore Conference Title with both Lake Station and Calumet. This is the second year in a row that the Wildcats have part of the Conference title. They hope to carry some of this momentum into their upcoming sectionals and all tournament play after. Things are looking good in the Den, although there will continue to be obstacles to overcome, whether it be Covid, quarantine, or injury.
Tonight, 2/19, our boys team will be traveling to Kouts to take on the Mustangs. The Mustangs have had quite a solid season, with many offensive threats and big bodies on defense. There are a few sets of twins on the team that look to shut down the Cats. We’re coming in as the underdog tonight, being projected to lose by 12 points. Tonight’s game will be streamed on the Region Sports Network on Facebook.
Tomorrow, 2/20, the boys will be hosting the Kankakee Valley Cougars at the Den. Tip off is projected to be at seven o’clock. Many fans are really hoping that the Cats come out on top tomorrow, considering there has been a bit of a rivalry between the two schools over the past few years. This should be a pretty evenly matched event, and the Cats are going to need to use their home court to their advantage. Show out for the boys, they’ll need you there.
