The Lady Wildcats lost both the A and B games to a very good St. Mary’s of Crown Point team losing the first 22-1 and the second 13-10.

In the A game, St. Mary’s played a tough-to-penetrate 2-1-2 zone defense and Hanover points were scarce until the 4th quarter. Leading in scoring was Sienna Stilley with 4 points followed by Lily McDonnell, Gaby Brody and Claire Edgerton with 2 points and Brooklyn Oostman with 1 point. The girls played well defensively but St. Mary’s hit some 3’s and were able to dominate the offensive boards.

In the B game, the Wildcats turned it around and were able to match St. Mary’s basket for basket. The game was close late into the 4th quarter when St. Mary’s was able to hit a shot to go up 3 in the final minute but the Lady Wildcats could not get a score to tie, ending an exciting game. Leading the way with outstanding defense were Nora Prim, Audrey Zuzich and Raigan Orsini. Offensively, the girls were led by Sophia Simmons with 6 points, Brooklyn Oostman with 2 points and Audrey Zuzich and Nora Prim with 1 point apiece.

The girls next play a home game Tuesday, February 11th at 5:30 PM verses Whiting Middle School.
